Where It Started

I’ve been doing this a long time—bookkeeping, accounting, financial systems—you name it.
Over the years, I’ve worked with just about every type of business imaginable:

• Construction crews

• Therapists & clinics

• Marketing agencies

• Startups & service firms

Each one taught me something valuable about how money moves, how owners think, and where chaos hides in the numbers.

The Shift

In 2025, everything changed when I started working with an attorney whose books were a disaster (even though he was working with a bookkeeper):

• Trust ledgers didn’t match IOLTA balances

• Client funds were co-mingled

• Compliance was hanging by a thread

As I cleaned things up and walked him through the real story behind his numbers, something clicked — this is the work I was meant to do.

Why Attorneys

Maybe it’s because I started my career in a law firm, but helping attorneys stay compliant and confident just made sense.

Since then, I’ve built The Bearded Bookkeeper into a firm focused exclusively on:
